Phoenix Lodge No. 112 Introduce I-CARE Program
Phoenix Lodge No. 112, Prince Hall F&AM, located in Akron, OH recently held the first I-CARE Service Coordinator Training Session for Prince Hall Affiliate Lodges in the State of Ohio. The I-CARE (Independence through Coordination, Assistance, Referral, and Education) program through The Ohio Masonic Senior Services serves Masons, their wives, widows, and Eastern Star members by identifying and coordinating community based services that assist them in remaining in their own home and maintaining their independence.
NAACP M.A.D. Breakfast
WEST AKRON — Prince Hall Masons from both Lodges in Akron, including Mount Calvary No. 76 and Phoenix No. 112, gathered to honor Sandra Stubbs-Pitts at the first annual NAACP State M.A.D. (Making a Difference) Breakfast March 29 at Tangier restaurant.
The breakfast, with the theme “Building Stronger Families,” featured students who demonstrated family unity through an oratorical and poster contest in Akron as well as Dayton, Steubenville, Sandusky, Dover, South Eastern, East Liverpool, Oxford and Elyria. The proceeds from the breakfast will be used at the local level to create meaningful activities that will successfully enhance family lifestyle, according to organizers.
Phoenix Lodge is proud to set the benchmark
A Masonic Senior Services I-Care coordinator can meet with a client in their own home, and there is no charge for the services. A donation can be made to The Ohio Masonic Senior Services if desired to help fund this program.
